"Speaking with Trees" is an exhibition composed of a seven song (44 min) score (produced by David Block) to accompany the 12 sculptures (wood, stone, steel, 14K solid Gold wire) which are designed to be experienced together in silence.
The music works synergistically with the sculptures which aim to quiet the mind (like being bathed in the glow of an old growth forest). Several compositions contain recordings from of the “voices of trees” recorded by Tuck Tyrell who attached contact microphones to the roots of old growth trees (6 feet underground). The album also features National Slam Poetry champion “In-Q” on the final song.
